The Romanian Association for Atherosclerosis and Lipidology (RAAL) was founded in 1997 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and has 120 members. The membership base is made up of diabetologists, cardiologists, internists, and general practitioners.
During the past 4 years RAAL organized national and regional symposia dedicated to atherosclerosis and lipidology, focusing particularly on cardiovascular prevention. Additionally RAAL has collaborated closely with Diabetes and Obesity Societies.
The next priority of the Association is the publication, beginning next year, of the Romanian Journal of Atherosclerosis and Lipidology.
