IAS VISITING FELLOWSHIP AWARD

Visiting Fellowship Award:

  • 3-Month Visiting Fellowship Award: $5,000
  • 6-Month Visiting Fellowship Award: $8,000

Objectives:

  • Improve skills and knowledge in the field of cardiovascular disease
  • Learn new research techniques in the field of cardiovascular disease
  • Implement new techniques or initiate new programs in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease in home country

Eligibility:

  • Member of a constituent society of the IAS
  • Actively engaged in research in the field of cardiovascular disease
  • Individuals only MD/PhD or equivalent degree required
  • Age 40 or less

Mission Statement:
To promote and develop the knowledge about Atherosclerosis in basic, clinical and preventive studies.

History of Department of Atherosclerosis, Brazilian Society of Cardiology:
The Department of Atherosclerosis, Brazilian Society of Cardiology was created as a Group of Individuals (GEPA), linked to the Brazilian Society of Cardiology, sharing a common interest in atherosclerosis. The Group was officially founded in February 15th, 1989, in a meeting at Sao Paulo, Brazil, when the mission and the rules were approved by the fellows. After a remarkable development in a few years, the Group was promoted to Department of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology with the Officers being elected by the fellows.

Current Activities:
Department of Atherosclerosis of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology also has an official journal “International Journal of Atherosclerosis “.
