Goals for 2007:
- Supporting the establishment of new societies in the Asia-Pacific region
- Collaboration of the IAS Asia-Pacific Federation and the APSAVD
- Supporting educational grants for young scientists to attend the IAS-related meetings
- Planning a joint symposium in the next APSAVD meeting in Hong Kong in 2008
- Planning collaborative epidemiological studies in the Asia-Pacific countries
- Promotion of fighting against the metabolic syndrome in the Asia-Pacific region
